About me

I am...
...a wife to Daddy, and Mum to 3 year old Eloise (who, depending on the day and outfit, may also be known as Belle, Snow White or Cinderella) and our lovely little newborn Ava.
...a travel lover. I can't begin to describe how much I love to travel and before I became a Mum, Daddy and I spent a lot of time, annual leave and money seeing the world. Needless to say, the arrival of our children have slowed down our travel plans! This photo was taken in Maui, Hawaii - the only overseas trip we've taken since the arrival of Eloise, but definitely one of the most enjoyable.
...a working Mum. For the next 12 months I'll be on maternity leave, but when I'm not, I spend four days a week working my 'day job' as an HR Manager. I balance this with Please Eloise which gives me a creative outlet and my girls plenty of hair accessories.

I'm not...
...a domestic goddess. I hate to vacuum, mop and clean the bathroom, so much so that I'm keeping my cleaner while I'm on maternity leave. I feel guilty about it, but in the interest of all my family's sanity, I know it's for the best. I can follow a recipe, but I don't take much joy in cooking. Daddy is a much better cook than me a thousand times over. Strangely enough though, I do like hanging and folding the washing. Don't ask me why, I don't have an answer.
...a procrastinator (unless it's about vacuuming, mopping or cleaning the bathroom). If I decide to do something I do it, if I want something done, I want it done ten minutes ago. I don't believe in new years resolutions - they involve procrastination while waiting for the new year to arrive.
...a sewer, but I love to try. I have some simple patterns and would be lost without my precious 'Sewing for Dummies' book, but I have managed to make some things I'm pleased with including this dress for Eloise. At the moment I'm making my first simple quilt for Ava. When I do have time to finish a project I like to blog about it.
